So I assume this untrusted cert is the root of the error, have now removed accordingly. Date ranges are valid on both, as to why the older org profile is untrusted, I can only guess. So I head on over to Configurator 2 Preferences, Orgs, and then look for the one that has the older certificate date when you click on 'Show Supervision Identity.' - this is where I find that the older idendity appears to have an untrusted cert, and the newer one is trusted. However, I now have two items in my Org list have exactly the same string, which isn't brilliant. It revalidated with the ABM apple ID and then the prepare went through on the iPad without error. So last thing to try was to choose the 'New Organization' option on the 'Assign to Organisation' option. Select Manual from the Configuration drop down menu and click next. Under Add MDM Server, enter the information for the MDM server. In the All devices view, click the iOS device. I'm testing MDM differences, so have two MDMs setup (Jamf and the other both had this same error). Then, in Apple Business Manager, click on the Settings tab and select MDM Servers. The fix (for me) was to re-create the Organization profile as part of the Prepare steps. However, as these systems are updated, workflows, like enrolling devices into a mobile device management (MDM) server, often change. Here’s how it works: Connect the iOS device to the Mac running Apple Configurator Launch Apple Configurator. Do one of the following: Remove a payload: Select this option, then click Remove Payload in the upper-right corner of the payload settings pane. If the configuration profile is signed, choose File > Unsign Profile. However, MDM will override the same and replace it with the profile name which you subsequently specify on the MDM console. There are two ways to add iPhone, iPad and Apple TV devices to Apple School Manager in Apple Configurator. Upgrades to Apple Configurator, Apple Business Manager (ABM), and Apple School Manager (ASM) have brought significant quality of life changes to the management side of Apple. In Apple Configurator, choose File > Open, then locate the configuration profile on your Mac. On a Mac machine, open Apple Configurator 2.0 and go to File-> New Profile In the General tab, ensure the Name and the Identifier are provided, which are mandatory fields. I just had this exact error in my new development environment. Manually add devices with Apple Configurator for Mac.
